The Liturgical Ministers for the St Rose Parish enhance the worship of the parish community. All of the ministries are always on the lookout people who would like to serve. If you are interested in becoming a Liturgical Minister, please contact Marci in the parish office at 218-729-7537 or 218-624-0007.
Altar Servers are responsible for preparing the church for the Mass by lighting the candles, placing the gifts on the offertory table, and setting the Sacramentary and other items for communion on the credence tables. Altar servers must arrive in the sacristy 15 minutes before the scheduled time for Mass. Altar Servers are at least 4th grade age.
Lectors are responsible for proclaiming the first and second readings. There are workbooks available to help Lectors prepare for the readings. A workbook is available in the sacristy.
There are usually 4 Eucharistic Ministers per Saturday/Sunday Masses, both Ordinary ministers (Priest and Deacon) as well as Extraordinary ministers (lay faithful). They help in the distribution of Holy Communion. Extraordinary Minister training sessions will be held periodically for people who are interested in participating in this ministry.
Ushers mainly serve by taking the collection(s) and getting those offerings to the sacristy after the Mass. Ushers also identify two or three people to take up the gifts at the offertory. They may be called on to help worshipers who have questions or difficulties before, during or after the Mass.
